David Mentesana

David Mentesana joins Opteon AMC as Chief Appraiser. David is a senior valuation and collateral risk professional with more than 25 years of experience supporting financial institutions in managing appraisal risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening valuation governance frameworks. His expertise spans both residential and commercial properties, with a strong focus on aligning valuation practices with the Interagency Guidelines, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA requirements.

Throughout his career, David has led and supported collateral risk management and quality control functions, including appraisal review, escalation management, reconsideration of value processes, and portfolio-level risk assessment. He partners closely with credit, underwriting, and audit teams to ensure valuations are credible, well-documented, and consistent with evolving regulatory expectations.

David holds the MAI designation and maintains Certified General Appraiser licenses in multiple states. He is also a licensed real estate broker and property tax consultant in Texas, providing a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics, property valuation, and collateral risk.
