Industry Experience

Stephen joined Opteon in May 2025 and provides residential valuation and advisory services throughout Hobart and Southern Tasmania. He undertakes valuations for mortgage security, market value assessments and related purposes across a diverse range of residential properties, including detached houses, units, townhouses and residential development sites. His role includes detailed property inspections, market research, sales evidence analysis, and the preparation of valuation reports in accordance with API standards, client requirements and industry best practice.

With almost 20 years of valuation experience across NSW and Tasmania, Stephen has completed in excess of 10,000 valuations for a broad range of purposes, including mortgage security, pre-purchase and pre-sale advice, family law, stamp duty, capital gains tax, insurance, public open space contributions, strata developments and unimproved capital value objections. He also has experience delivering valuation services for Defence Housing Australia (DHA), including acquisition, construction, sale and leaseback transactions, and rental reviews.

Stephen is recognised for his strong residential market knowledge, analytical approach and commitment to delivering accurate, defensible and well-supported valuation advice. He also actively contributes to team knowledge sharing and market discussions, supporting valuation consistency, professional development and reporting accuracy across the Hobart office.
